Light Lentils
Ingredients
- 1 cup lentils (if you are able, masoor dal is meant to be used here.)
- 3 cups water
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 2 green chilies
- 1 inch grated ginger
- 2 sticks curry leaves
- ½ Teaspoon chili powder with water to prevent burning
Directions
- Boil water in pressure cooker
- Add dal, turmeric and salt
- Cover cooker without whistle
- Add whistle and cook until it whistles once. Alternatively, if making in the instapot, cook for 3 minutes
- Cook spices in oil aside from chili powder
- Add chili powder mixed with a little water
- Add 1 cup water and cook
- Add dal to spice mix and let cook
